Just a Drop and The Maiden Factor Foundation

Just a Drop has launched a new partnership with The Maiden Factor Foundation. 30 years ago, the yacht Maiden gained acclaim as the first vessel to be sailed around the world by an all-female crew, led by Tracy Edwards MBE, paving the way for all women. Now fully restored, Maiden will in 2018 embark on a new global journey to raise funds for charities including Just a Drop, as well as campaign for girls’ education.Read more

Just a Drop’s work in Nicaragua amid widespread anti-government unrest

Since April, Nicaragua has seen widespread civil anti-government unrest and violence, with tragic consequences for society and the country as a whole. Many other NGOs have decided to pull out of the country due to safety reasons, and while the situation has implications for Just a Drop, it has made our project work in Nicaragua increasingly more important says Bella Mytton-Mills, Just a Drop's Programmes Coordinator.Read more

Soap Making

We have started liquid soap making programmes with many of the groups and schools we work with in Kenya, as part of our sanitation and hygiene work.  The soap can be used for hand washing, as well as cleaning utensils or clothes. It ensures good health and hygiene, keeping everyone healthy and happy.  Soap making programmes also provide a good source of income. Story of a Sand Dam

In the semi-arid area of Makueni County in Kenya, Just a Drop works with community self-help groups to build sand dams, which provide a natural and sustainable solution to capturing the biannual rains that fall so quickly and heavily that very little water is captured for drinking, washing, or other needs. Fulrani's Story

Fulrani lives in Patna Village, India, with her family. Fulrani used to walk for 6 hours a day to collect water from the nearest river. A pump tower and piped water system in the village now brings water directly to her home and has made a huge difference to her life.Read more
