What does 'sustainability' mean to Just a Drop?

Since 1998 we’ve worked directly with communities to enable access to safe water using a variety of methods -  each designed to last and suited to the local environment and cultural needs, from sand dams to rainwater harvesting tanks to biosand filters.

To us, access to water is never just about water. Our work is holistic and ensures environmental, social and economic sustainability. Indeed, our projects contribute to 12 out of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals

What are the 'Sustainable Development Goals'?

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a universal set of goals agreed by United Nations member states with the aim of ending poverty, protecting the planet and ensuring prosperity for all by 2030. Each goal has specific targets to reach by 2030. For the goals to be reached, everyone needs to do their part: governments, the private sector, civil society and the public.
