The coronavirus outbreak is affecting all of us, across the globe. Handwashing with soap is the first line of defence against the spread of infectious diseases like Covid-19, yet millions across the world do not have access to safe water, handwashing facilities or soap.

We have been promoting the practice of proper handwashing with soap at Just a Drop since 1998, through providing hygiene training and access to safe water and soap, preventing the spread of diseases and protecting communities. And we will continue to do so.

Coronavirus will affect those most vulnerable in society, including those without access to proper handwashing facilities. At Just a Drop we are working hard with our local partners to monitor the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak in each country where we work and to follow their government guidelines to help prevent the spread of the disease, and will continue to support the communities we work with, providing access to safe water, hygiene training, sanitation facilities and soap.

We believe everyone has the right to safe water and handwashing facilities and now more than ever, it is important that we continue to support communities across Africa, Asia and Latin America.

We thank and value all our supporters as we continue our work in these difficult circumstances. If we can do anything for you in these challenging times, please don’t hesitate to get in touch as it’s important we all work together and support one another.

Keep safe and keep handwashing.
