The Partnership
The Visit USA Ball has supported Just a Drop for the last 17 years, helping us to reach 1,634 people with safe water and sanitation!
The Association and it’s members have enabled Just a Drop to complete the following projects:
- 2024 Kenya: Kawala Primary School, Makueni (In Progress), 462 people: School Rainwater Harvesting Tank and Hygiene Programme
- 2024 Nicaragua: Santa Isabel School, Terrabona, 47 people: Sanitation, Latrines and handwashing facility.
- 2023 Kenya: Wambiti Primary School, 224 people: School Rainwater Harvesting Tank and Hygiene Programme
- 2022 Nicaragua: Mesitas, 157 people: Water source for the village. In memory of Sarah Lax.
- 2021 Nicaragua: La Ceiba Village, 255 people: Water Tower with taps installed outside homes and WASH Programme
- 2019 Zambia: Nachoncho sanitation, 489 people: Latrine Blacks and WASH Training
- In 2019, Visit USA supported 494 children at Nachoncho Community School in Zambia with gender-sensitive latrines and handwashing facilities.
Previously, the school’s latrines were in a state of disrepair, water was located over 1.5km away, and the school did not have facilities for girls to manage their periods privately and with dignity, leading to high drop-out rates and absenteeism.
The gender-sensitive latrines with a private changing and showering area lead to more girls attending the school and improved hygiene at the school, reducing illness among the pupils and leading to improved school attendance and performance.
Thanks to Visit USA’s support these children and young people can look forward to much brighter futures.
