Through its partnership with Just a Drop, OHMG is helping to support safe water projects around the world, recognising the vital role that access to clean water plays in improving health, advancing gender equality, protecting the environment and strengthening communities.
OHMG is currently supporting a project at a girls school in Kenya.
Due to prolonged drought, many schools in Makueni county in Kenya are struggling to provide clean water for students. Thanks to OHMG’s support, we will build a rainwater harvesting tank for Nyayo girls school. The tank will enable the school to collect water during the rainy seasons, giving the students and staff year-round access to safe water and reducing their reliance on expensive purchased water.
As part of the project, we will also install handwashing stations, provide hygiene and sanitation training, and deliver a programme of menstrual health education.
