We work in countries where there is a clear need for safe water and sanitation
We take into account water availability, geography, infrastructure, economic conditions and local culture when identifying the best water and sanitation solutions to suit a country’s specific needs.
We’ve completed projects in 33 countries, reaching over 1.96 million people since we began in 1998.
We’re currently working in the following countries:
Cambodia
Cambodia has high rainfall and is prone to flooding, so although there\\\'s not a lack of groundwater, much of this is contaminated and not safe to drink.
India
India is home to a third of the world's malnourished and underweight children. Open defecation is widely practised due to inadequate sanitation, and 80% of India's surface water is now contaminated and not fit for consumption.
Kenya
Kenya is a chronically water-scarce country, with large parts of the land classified as arid or semi-arid, and prone to severe drought.
Nicaragua
In Nicaragua we support marginalised, hard to reach communities in the drought-prone areas through the construction of water distribution systems which bring water directly to households, via taps.
Uganda
We support rural marginalised village communities with access to clean safe water, improved sanitation and hygiene training in the districts of Wakiso, Amuria, and Karamoja.
Zambia
In Zambia we work with country partners in communities, schools and health centres in Central, Eastern and Copperbelt Provinces, to rehabilitate boreholes and drill new boreholes, install piped water networks, build latrines, and provide hygiene behaviour change training.
