Sustainability is at the heart of Just a Drop’s operations.
To us, access to water is never just about water. Our work is holistic and supports environmental, social, and economic sustainability. We want these projects to last for years to come, for communities to take ownership and to have the knowledge, skills, and finance to maintain them. This is built into every project that Just a Drop does.
Project Sustainability
All Just a Drop’s projects are monitored for a minimum of seven years so they continue to serve communities for as long as possible.
Net Zero
We monitor and publish our annual carbon emissions with a view to being at net zero emissions by 2040.
UN Sustainable Development Goals
We directly contribute to SDG 6 and impact a further 11 of the Goals.

Environmental Sustainability
We are committed to carrying out our work with as little impact on the environment as possible. We are constantly seeking new ways to reduce our carbon footprint, while building community resilience to the effects of climate change.
Economic Sustainability
We ensure that financial mechanisms are in place to maintain our solutions once we have left. We always aim to boost economic empowerment and reduce poverty.
Social Sustainability
We create sustained behavioural change through a variety of training programmes, from hand hygiene, to soap-making, to menstrual health education.
