Just a Drop is delighted to share some highlights from 2025
As the year draws to a close, we reflect on how we have continued to strengthen and evolve our safe water, hygiene and sanitation programmes to better meet the needs of the communities we work alongside around the world, maximising our positive impact. In this update, we share examples of that progress from Tanzania, Cambodia and Kenya.
We also demonstrate how our work aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with a particular focus on Quality Education, Gender Equality and Partnerships.
None of this would be possible without the ongoing commitment and generosity of our supporters. Thank you for being part of our journey throughout the year and helping to make lasting change possible.

Tanzania
New Programme, New Sand Dam
It took time and care to find the right country partner and location for our Tanzania programme, and we’re so pleased to see this work now underway. The construction of a sand dam in the Dodoma region is already set to bring safe, reliable water to around 1,500 people.
This first project will soon be completed, marking an exciting milestone and bringing lasting benefits to a community where access to safe water is greatly needed.

Gender Equality
At Just a Drop, our work is closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This autumn, we proudly highlighted our contribution to SDG 5: Gender Equality, focusing on our income-generating loans programme in Uganda.
As part of this story, we spoke with Grace, who shared how the programme has made a positive difference for her and her family. Her experience is a powerful reminder of the lasting change made possible through opportunity and support – watch the full interview here.
Cambodia
In 2025, we were delighted to begin delivering a menstrual health programme in Cambodia, supporting girls to attend school with confidence and continue their education while addressing harmful myths and misinformation.
Alongside this, we are now providing safe, reliable water to Health Centres in Cambodia by installing purification systems capable of treating up to 1,500 litres of dirty water every hour.
We are also refurbishing latrines and installing handwashing facilities at these centres, helping to create cleaner, safer and more dignified spaces.
Together, these improvements ensure Health Centres are better equipped to meet the everyday needs of communities relying on them and supporting healthier outcomes for all.

Kenya
Energy Saving Stoves
Just a Drop has worked with communities in Kenya for many years, continually adapting our programme to meet local needs. Our latest innovation – energy-saving stoves – supports healthier homes and the environment by reducing smoke, using locally made fuel, and helping prevent deforestation.

Partnerships
None of our work would be possible without the commitment and generosity of our partners. This year, we’ve been delighted to see partnerships such as those with PPHE Hotel Group and Boodles continue to grow from strength to strength.
Boodles supports our work in Kenya, where sand dams are transforming the landscape. As shown below, the land becomes green and fertile after the rainy season, with the sand dam raising the local water table. This allows farmers to grow more crops, sell the surplus, and build more secure livelihoods – a powerful example of lasting impact in action.

Quality Education
Just a Drop works with schools around the world to improve sanitation and hygiene, installing handwashing facilities and latrines alongside providing safe water.
These improvements help create healthier, happier school environments where children can thrive and focus on learning.
In Cambodia, for example, we recently refurbished the latrines and repaired facilities at Leang Dai Primary School in Siem Reap.
These upgrades are already supporting the health and well-being of the children, helping them stay in school and access the education they deserve, a truly positive and lasting impact.

Borehole Repairs
Zambia
In the communities where Just a Drop works in Zambia, many boreholes had fallen into disrepair, leaving people without reliable access to safe water.
This year, our programme has focused on repairing existing boreholes rather than drilling new ones. This approach brings safe water to thousands, is kinder to the environment, and makes the most of every pound donated, creating sustainable, lasting change for the communities who need it most.

Just a Drop Sustainability
Throughout 2025, sustainability has remained at the heart of our work.
In April, we launched our new website, featuring a dedicated sustainability section, and we now independently measure our own carbon footprint to ensure we’re accountable for our impact.
This year, we have also invested in our watershed programme in Nicaragua.
Watersheds are natural highland areas that store water before it flows into rivers and basins.
By protecting these areas, we help communities access safe water while creating richer, more fertile soil, supporting families to grow the food they need and thrive.

Thank You!
As 2025 draws to a close, we want to take a moment to thank all the incredible people, volunteers, and partner organisations who make our work possible. Your support allows us to bring safe water, sanitation, and hygiene to communities around the world — creating lasting change and brighter futures.
If you are able, a donation today would help us continue this vital work in 2026 and beyond, reaching even more communities in need.
From all of us at Just a Drop, thank you for being part of our journey this year and we look forward to another year of hope, impact, and unity in 2026!
