This Independence Day, we're delighted to highlight our work with Derek Warburton, Just a Drop's USA Goodwill Ambassador. Derek is a TV personality, celebrity stylist and Co-Owner/Creative Director of LAPALME Magazine, and we are thrilled that he is working with us to spread the word about the need for clean water.

Derek’s Ambassadorship started earlier in the year with a visit to Just a Drop projects in the León region of Nicaragua. Derek met with women and schoolchildren from local communities who walk miles each day through the foothills of the Segovia Mountains to find water. Just a Drop's projects support these communities with clean water piped directly to each household, the construction of school toilets and hygiene training programmes.

Just $5 can provide a child with clean water

Since his visit, Derek has helped us to spread the word in the US about the clear need for clean water, which he witnessed first-hand in Nicaragua. This Fourth of July everyone can get involved in supporting these communities, as just $5 can provide a child with clean water. Make a $5 donation here today.

Derek witnessed that without water, life is a struggle, but with it, anything becomes possible. We’re very grateful for his passion and commitment.

I am honoured to accept the Goodwill Ambassadorship from Just a Drop because their mission hits me close to home. Growing up homeless I did not have running water, a sewer or electricity, although these were accessible to myself and my family. We all have the right as citizens of the world to have fresh water and this should never be neglected.
