Just a Drop appoints Chris Mottershead to the board of trustees

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Chris Mottershead to the Just a Drop board of trustees! Chris has been a big supporter of Just a Drop over the years and joins the board with the aim to enhance Just a Drop's reach by leveraging his experience gained over a 30 year career in the travel industry.

When asked about his appointment by Travel Weekly he had this to say: "I want to help raise the profile of Just a Drop. It has got corporate support but it needs more at a time when companies in travel are focusing on their survival. I want to add my experience and influence to remind people it is absolutely essential to continue to support Just a Drop, even more so now when hygiene and cleanliness have proved to be critical."

What We Do

We work at a grassroots level to support communities around the world with access to sustainable safe water solution, sanitation facilities and knowledge of safe hygiene practices: such as through the construction of wells, pipelines, sand dams, rainwater harvesting systems and latrines, and hygiene and sanitation programmes.

Why Water?

With clean water, communities can begin to lift themselves out of poverty and build brighter futures. Drinking dirty water can make people sick. That’s just part of the picture. A lack of clean water and sanitation holds back development and makes it harder for communities to escape the poverty trap.
Our Approach

We believe everyone, everywhere, should have access to clean water as a basic right. We want to see a world where everyone has clean water and adequate sanitation, and the increased health and prosperity this brings. Our approach is to support marginalised people across the world through community-led development, rather than aid; and to focus on sustainability and quality, ensuring a project's transformative impact is felt for decades to come.

Radisson Hotel Group

Radisson Hotel Group has partnered with Just a Drop to help give children around the world access to safe drinking water through the towel re-use programme. Guests are asked to reuse their towels and forego housekeeping. For every towel reused, Radisson Hotel Group make a donation to Just a Drop. Over 24,000 people across Just a Drop projects in Kenya, Nicaragua, Peru and India now have access to safe water thanks to this initiative.

Baltimore Aircoil Company

Just a Drop partnered with Baltimore Aircoil Company on World Water Day, 22 March 2018, to bring safe water and sanitation to communities worldwide. Since then, our partnership has reached thousands of people and in the coming year, BAC will support a further two projects in the Tempisque and La Jícara villages of Nicaragua, bringing water, sanitation, and hygiene to 251 people.
