Take the tuk tuk – the smallest, least practical vehicle in Asia – add three fearless explorers, throw in some dense jungle, a live volcano, an arduous mountain terrain, and then pepper with a formidable supply of anti malarials, antibiotics, bandages, bungee cords and gaffer tape… and you’ll begin to have some idea of what Mark, Simon and Danielle are about to let themselves in for.
On October 7th, the trio will set off on in their trusty Tuk Tuk, ‘Frank Sumatra’, on an epic 3,500km ‘Rickshaw Run’ from Bali to Sumatra. With just half a horse power of lawnmower engineering genius (their trusted steed is capable of top speeds of 50kms per hour), there’s no guarantee of making it to the finish line. And they only have a fortnight to complete their journey.
But they’re not taking on all of this foolhardiness for nothing.. “We’re making this journey for two great charities: Just a Drop and Birdlife International. It’d be great to donate to one (or both!) of these great causes. Anything helps and we truly appreciate your
generosity.”
So, if you would like to support Just a Drop whilst this bunch are navigating their way around Indonesia’s natural obstacles, please visit their JustGiving page and make a donation! http://www.justgiving.com/frank-sumatra
