How we choose a project

Just a Drop is a registered charity that raises money to build wells, install boreholes and  hand pumps, and carry out sanitation and health education programmes in some of the poorest parts of the developing world.

Our mission is to reduce child mortality by delivering accessible clean, safe water where it is needed most.

Just a Drop is independent, non-campaigning and hands-on.To date we have helped over 1 million children and their families in 29 countries.

Rather than taking a global perspective on the issue, we look at the local picture to establish how we can achieve maximum impact at ground level. This means working directly with other charities, local partners and communities.

Planning for Today

planplanplan

We believe that a good plan today is better than a perfect plan tomorrow. After all, if it is a case of saving lives there’s no time for unnecessary delays.

We assess every project application that we receive on its individual merits prior to approval by the Board of Trustees. Each project is thoroughly investigated, carefully budgeted and continuously monitored.

Work is then supervised by an expert team of field engineers and undertaken with the support and engagement of the immediate community so that projects are based on local needs and the recipients are committed to their success and long-term maintenance. Also key are sustainability, training, accountability and transparency.
