Just a Drop worked with the Scientific Exploration Society to provide Labourline Primary School and its local community with a borehole.
The new water supply will reduce exposure to water borne diseases such as diarrhoea, hepatitis A and typhoid. It will also allow pupils at the school to stay in class all day, rather than being sent out to collect water for cooking and drinking.
A Water User Committee was also set up in order to train community members in promoting fair usage and the appropriate upkeep of the borehole.
Date of Project: February 2008
Beneficiaries: 2,000
