Group IST has become the first US-based tour operator to adopt Just a Drop as its official charity. The announcement was made by Michael Goren, CEO and President, Group IST at the recent AARP Conference held in Los Angeles, California.
Goren said, “We are thrilled to become a corporate sponsor for Just a Drop, because we are proud to support a charity that provides the most essential need for man to survive. Clean water issues are especially critical in many communities where Group IST brings its clients on tours.”
Fiona Jeffery, Chairman, Just a Drop added, “We are absolutely delighted that Group IST adopted Just a Drop. We hope this paves the way for more companies in the US travel industry to get involved with Just a Drop, especially now that we are a part of the American Foundation of Charities, which enables companies as well as individuals to make tax-exempt donations.”
Group IST will commit a $1 donation to Just a Drop for every reservation for all of its brands which include ET African Journeys, Regina Tours and Journeys Unlimited. In addition, Group IST will encourage their clients to make their own donations through the Just a Drop site.
