Lord Marshall is currently Chairman of Nomura plc, Chairman of Pirelli UK Ltd, and chairman of the Board of Governors of Birkbeck College, University of London.

Previously he was Chief Executive and then Chairman of British Airways Plc, Chairman of Inchcape plc, Chairman of Invensys plc and a former President of the CBI (Confederation of British Industry). He has also served as Chairman of the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) and of the Board of Trustees of the Conference Board Inc (New York).
