Zenyogkido Martial Arts Foundation - March 2006

Zenyogkido Martial Arts Foundation 2006

On 15th of October, over 30 people met to take part in a charity walk in aid of Just a Drop. The walk was organised by the Zenyogkido Martial Arts Foundation and walkers managed to raise £1532.26 by carrying a cup of water for two miles without spilling a drop. This was to signify how in some parts of the world, people have to walk for tens of miles for a drink of water.

Russell Lyons is a member of the Zenyogkido Martial Foundation and cares deeply about what Just a Drop is doing for the children who are dying from drinking dirty water. Approximately five years ago he did some voluntary work and helped build a medical centre in Malayasia. Russell is not a runner, but he recently flew to Malta to run the Malta Half Marathon in aid of Just a Drop on Sunday 5 March 2006. Despite the hot weather, he completed the half marathon (13.5 miles) in a remarkable time of 1 hour 55 mins. He hopes to raise £300 in sponsorship from Toyota where he works in Lutterworth, Leicestershire.
