We are delighted to announce that Olympic swimmer Chris Cook, has become our newest schools ambassador!
Chris saw swimming success in the Commonwealth Championships and the Olympics, spanning a 10 year career. He finally hung up his swimming goggles in 2009, having represented Great Britain over 30 times, to take up a career in motivational speaking.
He now uses his knowledge and experience to support others achieve their goals and dreams – particularly in the classroom – and helps to raise the aspirations of young people in schools all over the country through presentations and workshops.
We are thrilled that Chris already has so much energy, enthusiasm and ideas and look forward to working with him on Just a Drop’s schools’ fundraising programme.
Chris says, ‘I wanted to become an ambassador with Just a Drop because I have grown
up being able to use water amenities freely – from drinking to swimming, water has been a huge part of my life (and still is). I feel so passionately that everyone should have the right to access clean and safe water, but as we all know there are still vast parts of our world where accessing safe water supplies is a daily struggle. As a new ambassador, my goal is to help raise awareness and funds to help others around the world to have the precious gift of water.’
Just a Drop’s Head of Fundraising, Kelly Railton, says, ‘We are delighted to have Chris aboard as our new schools ambassador. I have worked with Chris in the past and know what a huge impact his vision and enthusiasm will have on the charity, and therefore on the communities we help. His motivating manner will certainly help us to make the splash we so want to make in our school fundraising!’
